Rosicrucian Philosopher's Stone
Unicornis est Deus, nobis petra Christus, nobis lapis angularis Jesus, nobis hominum homo Christus
"He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the assemblies: To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it (Revelations 2:17).
The Brotherhood of the Rosy Cross is a living branch of the original fraternity of German Pietist-Theosophists or true Rosicrucians; a brotherhood and sisterhood of Christ and the blessed Sophia of holy wisdom and mystical illumination; alchemists and adepts of hermetic knowledge, religious, and spiritual truth.
The process of creating the legendary Philosopher's Stone of the alchemists is an essential part of the Magnum Opus (Great Work) of the Fraters and Sorors of the Brotherhood of the Rosy Cross.
What is the Stone?
The Philosopher's Stone is both symbol and object.

As a symbol, it reflects the greater part of the Work of the Rosicrucian in achieving spiritual illumination and perfection of body, mind and spirit.

As an object, it is capable of transforming base metals into gold and bestowing healing, rejuvenation, longevity and even immortality upon its possessor.

While these goals may be achieved in a more or lesser degree by other means, the Philosopher's Stone represents the quintessence of all that the true Rosicrucian may achieve, the pure and concentrated essence of the creative power of God in material form.

It is best to undertake the creation of the Stone by oneself, for there are innumerable benefits and properties attached to the creative process itself.  It is not uncommon, however, for a frater or soror of lesser degree to be given a portion of the Stone by one more advanced in the Art.

Even a small part of the Stone is capable of healing any illness or disease, rejuvenating and prolonging one's life and the transmutation of baser metals into fine gold and silver.  It may also be used for the transmutation of crystals into diamonds and precious stones such as rubies and emeralds,
the reviving of dead plants and small animals, and the creation of perpetually burning lamps and a thousand and one other things known to the Brotherhood.

The Philosopher's Stone is intimately related to but not identical with the Elixir of Life, the legendary Fountain of Youth.
